Subject Matter Expert
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, compassionate and mission driven trauma-focused early childhood mental health subject matter expert to serve Pre-K 2nd grade children within an elementary school located in south St Petersburg. The trauma-focused early childhood mental health subject matter expert will serve as a consultant to the pre-school through 2nd grade teachers to decrease problem behaviors in young children and promote social-emotional development through facilitating changes in the classroom environment. Services will be primarily provided in the classroom. The focus of the interventions will be with modifying the behaviors of the teachers, decreasing problem behaviors of the identified children, soliciting the engagement and support of the children's parents/caregivers.
- Responsible for developing classroom behavioral support plans and provide on-site support, modeling, and mentoring.
- Must provide feedback on a weekly progress sheet to be sent home with daily report card for parents
- Call parents to share progress/regress
- Set up a schedule to help the teacher and the child
- Provide real time feedback
Masters' degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in delivering or consulting on trauma-related services, trauma theory, research and advancement of trauma-informed approaches required. Previous experience and training in early childhood mental health and trauma focused interventions also required. Florida licensure in a clinical specialty a plus. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and computer skills required.
