POSITION SUMMARY: Annual Salary $42,000

The subject matter expert understands, articulates and implements best practices related to intimate partner violence and substance misuse. The subject matter expert will be an active participant of the IDT process as well as participates in all phases of the ongoing development of Baby Community Action Team (Baby CAT). The Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides input and insight to sensitive topics (some of which are intimate partner violence and substance misuse) during the IDT staffings by applying substantial knowledge, application and practice to how themes manifest in consumers families. IDT staffing occur at different frequencies throughout the service line, also occur at critical junctures of the case, and closures. The SME will work in collaboration with the IDT Facilitator. SME will assess a family history and current situation/records to determine risk level, identify options, and arrive at a shared decision on the best approach to ensure safety of the child, mitigate risk, and provide assistance to the family. The SME is charged with ensuring that decisions are made with the most current evidenced based interventions and strategies related to risk assessments and safety planning. The SME will need to incorporate the five promises when working with students and families in this setting. Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. Essential employees may be required to work in the field, be "on call" and/or be available and able to work remotely providing telehealth services depending on the needs of the individual being served.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must hold at least a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or human services related field. Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Marriage and Family is preferred.
  2. Expert knowledge and experience working with Substance Abuse and/or Domestic Violence.
  3. Minimum four (4) years of experience working with at risk families.
