Salary: $55,000/year

The Together We Rise (TWR) Peer Mentor Supervisor will play an integral role of support, coaching and guidance for a team of Peer Mentors who will be serving the families at risk of becoming involved in the child welfare system in Pinellas County. The TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor is assigned to oversee peer mentors working with parents with a substance abuse, mental health or co-occurring mental health & substance abuse concern and is responsible for guiding the peer mentors that are serving as a system navigator who supports the parent in treatment/recovery. The TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor will ensure that the peer mentor services being delivered are individualized, recovery-focused and allow individuals the opportunity to learn how to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor will be a subject matter expert on interventions of peer support staff that serve to enhance the development of natural supports, as well as coping and self-management skills. The TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor will ensure that peer services emphasize personal safety, self-worth, confidence, and growth, connection to the community, boundary setting, planning, self-advocacy, personal fulfillment, and development of social supports, and effective communication. The TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor will monitor that the peer services provided emphasize the acquisition; development; expansion of rehabilitative skills needed to move forward in recovery. The TWR Peer Support Supervisor will ensure that peer mentors collaborate with the other clinical service providers, such as the Behavioral Health Case Manager, therapist and/or a psychiatrist. If the parent/s are not engaged in these clinical services, the TWR Peer Support Supervisor will notify the program supervisor/director and help the peer mentor staff provide education on these services and help to coordinate initiation, as clinically appropriate. If these services are recommended, but parent/s are not yet willing to engage, this should be documented in the service notes and the TWR Peer Mentor Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the documentation. This is a field position. The Peer Mentor Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an annual productivity number of 4,140 hours which reflects a minimum of 1,380 hours of productivity per Peer Mentor on the team. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly and annual Productivity hours is an essential function of this positon.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates will have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Advanced education up to a Bachelor's degree in the social services field is preferred. Real life experience receiving and successfully navigating social services is required.

  1. Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Must have real-life experience receiving and successfully navigating social services Such as involvement in the child welfare system, criminal justice system and or homelessness.
  3. Must have a comprehensive understanding of trauma informed care, trauma informed care principles, and the ability to educate others on the use of trauma resolution skills.
  4. Must acquire knowledge of community resources within 3 months of employment.
  5. Must be computer literate and be proficient in Outlook, and Microsoft Word. Must be able to work proficiently in a Windows environment and be able to learn other software applications quickly.
  6. Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19 immediately upon hire. This is a condition of employment, exemptions to this requirement must be addressed in advance with HR.
  7. Must become a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) within 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment. Preference will be given to individuals who are already certified as a Recovery Peer Specialist.
