Homeless Supervisor
This is a professional supervisor position that provides leadership, program oversight, support and supervision to front line staff serving individuals and families whom are literally homeless. The Street Outreach Team consists of Street Outreach Jurisdictional C0-Response Teams and teams of 2 that are both dispatchable and provide targeted street outreach to priority and high-risk populations. Individuals served by Street Outreach teams are provided outreach and engagement efforts and services, aimed to increase overall quality of life and improving health outcomes by addressing social determinants of health of individuals who are living street homeless. The Supervisor Street Outreach is responsible for maintaining open communication and partnership with law enforcement departments, emergency medical services providers, fire rescue, code enforcement and others who are likely to be notified of individuals living street homeless, and to remain abreast of trends and to ensure that DFL outreach staff remain committed to the DFL street outreach program model. The Supervisor Street Outreach provides daily consultation, training, firm structure to support the Jurisdictional C0-Response Teams, and the dispatch/targeted outreach teams to ensure alignment with Directions for Living's goal of making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. This supervisory position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and at hours outside of normal business hours. The position requires management and supervisory skills, as well as experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and significant crisis response expertise with vulnerable populations. DFL prides itself on the fact that it is a trauma informed care services provider. This position requires that trauma informed practices are embedded into all services provided. The supervisor must have prior experience working with and supervising individuals who are co-located with other agencies. Co-located staff must have the appropriate level of supervision to ensure that they, at all times, are aligned with and representing DFL's priorities and meeting all contractual obligations. The supervisor will be held accountable for ensuring that all persons served by any member of the Street Outreach team who are uninsured are enrolled in the Pinellas Health Plan.
Educational Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field with a minimum of two years' leadership experience within an outpatient community mental health organization, homeless services organization or social service agency.
- Must have or immediately acquire knowledge of all community resources
- Must be computer literate and be proficient in Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word. Must be able to work proficiently in a Windows environment and be able to learn other software applications quickly. Must be competent in the use of electronic health records, and be able to use multiple electronic systems including the Pinellas Homeless Information Management System (P-HMIS)
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to use personal vehicle to transport clients. Must have and maintain clear driving record, must have valid Florida Driver License, maintain required automobile insurance coverage and pass the annual vehicle inspection.
