POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a position involving clinical responsibility for psychiatric and related medical practices. Physicians are required to meet a minimum productivity requirement of 80% which includes 1504 billable hours annually or a minimum of 31 billable hours per week. Working clinical knowledgeable of adult and pediatric psychopharmacology in general and willingness to prescribe psychotropic medications safely and effectively in certain clinical situations. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establish and maintain effective rapport with consumers.
  2. Develop accurate and complete clinical/psychiatric evaluations of consumers.
  3. Develop realistic and effective medication treatment plans with consumers and update them as appropriate.
  4. Maintain continuity of contact with consumers as appropriate to their        treatment plans.
  5. Maintain a level of direct service of at least 80%.
  6. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with consumers.
  7. Communicate evaluations and plans effectively to primary clinicians.
  8. Ability to partner across the organization with multiple departments through the exchange of data, information, and frequent communication
  9. Involve significant others of consumers in their treatment, as appropriate.
  10. Exhibit flexibility regarding clinical approach in order to most effectively respond to differing consumer problems.
  11. Utilize internal Organization resources for consumer referral as appropriate to achieve the consumer's treatment plan.
  12. Adhere to Organization policies, professional standards and legal requirements regarding clinical practice.
  13. Provides clinical supervision to a minimum of three Psychiatric ARNPs and others as assigned and needed.
  14. Acts as protocol physician for up to three assigned ARNPs.
  15. Maintain mediation logs accurately.
  16. Document psychiatric evaluations and progress notes in accordance w/organization outlines, policies and reimbursement requirements.
  17. Serve in Peer Review and Utilization Review Studies, as necessary, to represent medical practice.

 

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Monitor trends in medical practice and programs, and outcome, effectiveness and report to Management staff.
  2. Engage in case consultative activities with personnel of Directions and other organizations as appropriate to the position and as expected by the agency.                                                             
  3. Provide Program consultation and education services to other individuals, organizations, and the public, as appropriate to the position and as expected by the agency.
  4. Comply with all agency policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the agency attendance policy, code of conduct, and ethics policy
  5. Must not present a direct threat to the safety or health of the employee or others
  6. Attend trainings as required
  7. Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
  8. Effectively and consistently follow through with assignments in the designated time frame
  9. Maintain consumer confidentiality according to state law, professional standards, and agency policy
  10. Promote and maintain a professional attitude at all times

 

ACCESS TO PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION:

 

Will be knowledgeable in and practice all   policies and procedures related to privacy and security practices cited in the Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) applicable to my program and position.

 

 

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must be a Board Certified Family Practice licensed in the state of Florida. Successful completion of a background investigation with the Florida Department of Professional Regulations. Minimum of two years of progressive experience in a community mental health center, major health care system or large medical practice. Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and pre-paid health plans is highly desired.

Must have excellent clinical and technical skills with previous experience working with electronic health record is required. Child welfare experience is a plus. Must be knowledgeable of pediatric psychopharmacology in general and willing to prescribe psychotropic medications safely and effectively in certain clinical situations.  Prior experience in Community health setting or fast paced medical practice serving predominately a Low to moderate income population preferred.

  8. There will be satisfactory completion of primary and secondary duties and responsibilities of the position as required by    
  9. management and supervision.

  2. Evening work and meetings, and a work day of up to 12 hours.
