Counselor, Adult Services

This Master level prepared position provides individual therapy utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy to adults.

Position is based out in the field

Directions for Living has embarked upon implementing and imbedding Trauma informed Care principles throughout our agency. Candidates should have knowledge and/or interest in assisting Directions for Living carry out this implementation.

DUTIES

This position provides psycho-social assessment, psycho-education groups, case management and crisis intervention services. This position is responsible for appropriately linking with other services or service providers in the community to meet the needs of the client. Timely, accurate and focused documentation is a key performance indicator for this position. This position requires daily contact by phone and in person with clients and coordination of services, as needed. Team member may be required to perform other duties as needed. Must demonstrate effective working relationships with other departments and possess a willingness to be flexible. This position will work to establish and maintain measures of excellence that will enhance the customer's experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• MA in counseling, psychology, social work or other related field required.
• Florida LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or registered intern preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant and comparable experience working with clients with mental health and substance issues preferred.
• Must have sufficient clinical knowledge and skill to provide clinical intervention using various approaches.
• Working knowledge of substance abuse diagnosis, intervention/prevention and treatment approaches.
• Knowledge of DSM IV and ICD-9 diagnostic codes.
• Must be willing to have a flexible schedule including evening hours.
