Case Manager in Partnership with Law Enforecment

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a professional clinical position that will work in partnership with local law enforcement personnel providing case management counseling and supportive interventions to families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Work involves Outreach, Evaluation, facilitating access to emergency shelter, case management services, community resources, community education, and application of psychotherapeutic and prevention practices.

This position will work closely with other service providers, law enforcement, street outreach teams and funders to provide comprehensive services in the community.

This position will be primarily based out of the Directions for Living Largo office. The worker will be expected to receive input and direction from Directions for Living. Much of the service will be provided in the community while riding with a law enforcement officer. Homeless families and individuals will be outreached at shelters, other service provider's locations, businesses, private homes or other location they can be found. Hours will be flexible and occasional evening and weekend work will be required at the discretion of the homeless services supervisor.

Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. Essential employees may be required to work in the field, be "on call" and/or be available and able to work remotely providing telehealth services depending on the needs of the individual being served.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field required, with two years' experience preferred. Experience working with the homeless population preferred
