Behavioral Health Service Assessor

Provides initial assessment and introduction to services available at Directions during intake process.

DUTIES

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Services

  1. Assists new clients with intake paperwork and makes referrals to internal services and advises clients of community services
  2. Interviews new clients using Biospychosocial Evaluation in order to determine client needs.
  3. Establishes and maintains effective rapport with clients.
  4. Maintains small caseload of clients (no more than 5)
  5. Co-leads small number of groups (no more than 3)
  6. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients according to commonly accepted ethical standards.
  7. At all times, adheres to Organization policies, professional standards and legal requirements regarding clinical practice.
  8. Demonstrate cultural competency in service provision including recognition of any unique aspects of persons served.
  9. Administrative Services
  1. Maintains documentation according to Program policies.
  2. Regularly attend scheduled Organization and Program meetings as appropriate.
  3. Develop new groups according to the current client census and needs

Bachelor's Degree in Human Service. At least two years' experience with a psychiatric population of clients is preferred.
