Adult Outpatient Supervisor - SAMHSA

 

These positions will be associated with our new SAMHSA grant funded program, Assisted Outpatient Treatment.

 

The program is an intensive wraparound approach to treat individuals who are not following voluntary outpatient treatment resulting in frequent Baker Acts/Arrests due to their mental health issues.

In this program, individuals are court ordered into a 90 day intensive program with the projected outcome that they will be successfully graduated to voluntary outpatient for ongoing support.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a responsible supervisory position providing leadership for an outpatient treatment program serving and adults with mental health problems.  It requires management and supervisory skills, and clinical expertise.  This position provides oversight adult services programs at all service locations.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Administrative/Supervisory Responsibilities

  1. Ensures adequate staff coverage for all Program activities.
  2. Ensures that productivity levels of staff are adequate, relevant to the Director of Clinical Services expectations.
  3. Reviews statistics and program reports on an ongoing basis and takes appropriate corrective actions as needed.
  4. Monitors progress and ensures achievement of each program's goals and objectives through the development and monitoring of an annual Quality Center Plan.
  5. Participates in the process of program planning as appropriate and requested by the Director of Clinical Services.
  6. Ensures that client records are maintained with compliance.
  7. Provides onsite clinical services to clients.
  1. Ability to partner across the organization with multiple departments through the exchange of data, information, and frequent communication.

 

Clinical Responsibilities

  1. The Supervisor will provide clinical case review.
  2. Develops accurate and complete clinical evaluations of client.
  3. Insures development and updates of realistic treatment plans with client and their families as required and ensures that all documentation exhibits sound clinical judgment, identifies client progress, strengths and issue and documents client participation in the service process.
  4. Conducts thorough client interviews exhibiting accuracy and thoroughness of assessment and referral skills.
  5. Ensure the clinic manages caseload appropriately, establishes and maintains effective rapport with clients; engages clients in services and responds and coordinates appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
  6. Provides clinical interventions, utilizing flexibility in approach, maintenance of appropriate boundaries, and sound psychotherapeutic principles.
  7. Insures that all required clinical and administrative paperwork is completed within required time frames.
  8. Adheres to Organization policies, professional standards and legal requirements regarding clinical practice.
  9. Insures that monthly peer reviews are completed
  10. Provides Direct Services to consumers as required by Director of Clinical Services.
  11. Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations and maintains security of both electronic and paper client documents.
  12. Develop and demonstrate cultural competency in service provision to the Diversity of persons served.

 

Personal Staff Development

  1. Formulate and update annually performance objectives which appropriately addresses personal goals and the responsibilities of the position
  2. Pursues continuing education and development opportunities; maintains necessary credentials/licensure to perform job; completes corporate and grant/funder training in a timely manner.
  3. Demonstrates competency in utilizing e-learning system.
  4. Demonstrates competency in utilizing electronic records system as needed and appropriate.
  5. Completes all required E-learning and mandatory trainings as required.
  6. Evaluates staff compliance with completion of all required annual e-learning and mandatory trainings.
  7. Completes employee 90 day and annual performance evaluations as required.
  8. Facilitates or ensures that regular staff meetings are being held in accordance with agency policies and procedures. 

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Comply with all agency policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the agency attendance policy, code of conduct, and ethics policy.
  2. Must not present a direct threat to the safety or health of the employee or others.
  3. Attend trainings as required.
  4. Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  5. Effectively and consistently follow through with assignments in the designated time frame.
  6. Maintain consumer confidentiality according to state law, professional standards, and agency policy
  7. Promote and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

 

ACCESS TO PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION:

 

Will be knowledgeable in and practice all   policies and procedures related to privacy and security practices cited in the Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) applicable to my program and position.

 

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master's Degree in Human Services Field. Florida licensure required as an LMHC, LMFT or LCSW.
  2. Must have leadership and management skills
  3. Must obtain and maintain CPI certification.
  4. Must understand program cost center budget process.
  5. Must maintain appropriate balance between autonomous functioning and the use of supervisory support.
  6. Must have sufficient administrative knowledge to provide quality leadership for personnel of varied degrees of experience and training, must have sufficient clinical knowledge to provide clinical intervention with adults who manifest a range of pathology utilizing various treatment approaches, and to provide clinical supervision to assigned staff.
  7. Minimum three years relevant experience.
